I–Sign
The government has given £800,000 to a consortium of organisations to improve the levels of BSL in those who work with deaf children. The Academy is part of this consortium which includes RNID, National Deaf Children’s Society, British Deaf Association, University of Central Lancashire, Signature and others. The Academy will be delivering the Family Sign Language Curriculum, developed by the NDCS, to families in the south west from January 2010. We have begun working with Signature to develop a nationally accredited course for Education Communication Support Workers and we are currently working with the RNID to expand our BSL courses.
Family Sign Language Courses
The Academy is running the latest course for families with a deaf child to learn sign language together in a fun and friendly environment from 26 - 29 July 2010. If you would be interesting in attending this course click here for more information.
Bookings for the course can be made through the Academy. Please contact Lori Fox on 01392 267072 or email lfox@exeterdeafacademy.ac.uk
