Industrial Action Wednesday 30 November 2011
The combined teacher and school leadership trade unions will be taking industrial action on Wednesday 30 November.
The action (a one day strike) will result in class or whole school closures across the country.
The decision to close the school/college or send students home is never taken lightly, but in this instance, where staff have elected to take lawful industrial action, appropriate steps thave to be taken to ensure the health, safety and well being of all students.
If the action goes ahead, the following arrangements will be in place:
School Students
No day school pupils will be able to attend on Wednesday 30 November. The school will be closed to day students only.
College Students
No day or residential college students will be able to attend on Wednesday 30 November. The college will be closed to all students.
We have contacted all Local Authorities and informed them of these arrangements. Parents/carers should also contact their school transport department to discuss the situation.
Parents/carers who have any exceptional transport circumstances, which greatly affect attendance, should call Karen Burgess, Head of Care to discuss.
