Links with students in Germany

A link for college students at the Academy has been made with a school and college for deaf and hearing-impaired students in Germany.  The students, at the Pfalzinstitut Für Hörsprachbehinderte near Mannheim in Rheinland Pfalz have been writing letters and developing contacts with FE students at the Academy for over a year.  The students communicate through written English either independently or with support and their letters are emailed to the teacher Sandra Werner, who encourages the German students to reply in English.

We are looking forward to a visit in May, when the students from the Pfalzinstitut are visiting England for a few days.  The students at the Academy will be able to meet their penpals and show them around the college and hopefully they will also be able to give them an introduction to Exeter.
