Plans

The latest plans have been very well received by students, parents and others. They successfully create a defined but permeable community, designed for deaf students but accessible to hearing people. The new Academy has excellent visual connectivitiy, facilitating sign language, with excellent acoustics to facilitate speech. This will enable us to effectively meet the needs of all deaf students, irrespective of their communication method. There are spaces designed to enable deaf and hearing students to learn together, to facilitate inclusion where appropriate, but also capacity to enable students to be fully educated within a deaf environment where this is more appropriate for the student.
