Based mainly on the Academy site, Foundation learners acquire the skills, independence and qualifications to progress to their next steps in life. Foundation Learners follow two main routes: students who are working towards an end goal of supported living; and students who are working towards work and higher education.
All learners follow the core curriculum of British Sign Language (BSL), English, Maths, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Personal and Social Development (PSD). Students can chose from a wide range of vocational courses on site or at one of our partner colleges.
Learners with complex needs are fully supported by specialist staff as they follow independent living courses.
