Do your own fundraising

Module main decoration

Fundraisers are vital in helping us change the lives of Deaf young people at Exeter Deaf Academy. Giving your time and donations helps support projects which otherwise would not happen, such as our College social enterprise ‘Grow, Make, Sell’ and our Family Support Project. We have also recently announced exciting new plans to build a new Deaf Academy in Exmouth. Designed with Deaf children and young people, and fully accessible to support students with complex needs, the new Academy will ensure Deaf children and young people have the best opportunities to succeed. You can be a part of it!

How can you help?

There are lots of different ways you can get involved with fundraising for Exeter Deaf Academy. Support us as an individual, involve your friends or your community group, your school or your company. Alternatively, take a look at existing events and see how you could get involved.

Organise an event in aid of Exeter Deaf Academy

You might like to hold a fundraising event for us.  Remember fundraising should be fun, exciting and enjoyable!

Here are just a few ideas of fun ways you could take part to support us.

  • Coffee morning - Get everyone together to enjoy some cake, sip some tea and raise money to help change the lives of Deaf young people.
  • Charity car wash - Organise a charity car wash at work or in your local area.
  • Bake off/cake sale - Make some delicious cakes, then sell them to raise money for the Deaf Academy. Alternatively, why not mix a bake sale with your own baking competition and give a prize for the best cake.
  • Dye or shave your hair - Getting sponsored to dye or shave your hair is a great way to raise money. Or, if you’re feeling brave, you could have your legs and chest waxed!
  • Have a party - Hold a dinner party for friends and family and ask everyone to make a donation.
  • Give something up - Give up a favourite food or drink in exchange for donations
  • Hold a Quiz night - Get friends, colleagues and whoever you can together for a charity quiz night with a prize for the winning team. Why not theme it?
  • Occasions - Got a special day coming up? Whether it’s a birthday or other celebration, share the love and ask your family and friends for donations rather than gifts.
  • Dress down day - Hold a dress down day or dress in purple day at your work or school.
  • Walk or run to work - Depending on how close you live to work, get sponsored to walk or run to work for the week. If it’s a long way, do it for a day!
