If you are interested in covering Exeter Deaf Academy for a school project or would like to raise money and are seeking ideas, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Sponsored Silence: Could your pupils keep schtum for an hour or even a whole day? If you’ve got a class of chatterboxes then this is a great way to raise vital funds
Hold a Finger Spellathon: Put your BSL fingerspelling to the test and organise a team challenge. Download your easy to follow fingerspelling guide here
Give it up: Get sponsored to give something up, or get the whole school to give up sweets for a day and donate the money they would have spent to Exeter Deaf Academy
Treasure hunt: Collect a set list of items and get sponsored for each item collected.
Helping Hands: Carry out simple chores and get sponsored for each completed task.
Smartie Change Challenge: An empty Smartie tube will hold £12 in 20p pieces or £27 in pound coins. So once you’ve munched through the contents ask friends and family to help you refill it and donate the contents to the Academy
Non-Uniform Day: Make a donation to come into school without uniforms.
Virtual Challenge: Conquer some great feats without leaving school! If you have a climbing wall you could climb Everest or if you have a sports field you could run a marathon, collectively!
Schools got talent: You don’t need Simon Cowell to host a fabulous talent show! This is one event that teachers and pupils can all get involved in. Sell tickets and showcase your schools’ talents!
Sell, sell, sell: Hold a school art auction, jumble sale or sell home-made jewellery and cakes.
Quiz: Do you have a knowledge of music, TV or films that amazes your friends? Why not set up a quiz and charge teams to enter
Exeter Deaf Academy can also arrange for one our experienced speakers to come and talk to your school about our amazing work with Deaf students, Deaf culture and British Sign Language. Please contact our Fundraising Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 01392 267019 to find out more.
