Tony is a graduate of Birmingham University where he studied English Literature.
He was a teacher for 48 years; 26 of these as a headmaster at three schools; two of which were inner city. Each of the schools required considerable improvement to their reputation; management and leadership; pupil achievement and financial stability. This gave Tony a valuable insight into the practical issues involved in improving school performance.
Tony's experience will be of benefit when working with the management, staff and governors of the Academy as we continue to ensure that all our students achieve their full potential in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.
Tony is married to Kathryn and they have five grandchildren. He enjoys sailing, playing tennis, skiing; and watching rugby and cricket.
