The New Deaf Academy in Exmouth has been designed by Deaf people for Deaf people. It will deliver world-class education and residential care facilities that our inspiring students deserve. Our community appeal aims to raise £250,000 to make this happen.
We launched our appeal with a week full of activities, titled Exmouth Deaf Awareness Week. We held school talks, visited the town centre, taught BSL to shoppers in Exmouth, organised a flash mob and silent rugby, turned Exmouth parkrun purple, and even appeared on BBC Spotlight!
We are incredibly grateful to the people of Exmouth for their warm welcome to us, and we can’t wait to meet more and more of our new neighbours as we raise the money we need to build our new home.
