Estates & Facilities Officer x 2 roles

x 1 position: Actual salary = £16,003.17 for 30 hours per week (based on a full time equivalent of £19,757.00

x 1 position: Actual salary = £10.668.78 for 20 hours per week (based on a full time equivalent of £19,757.00

The Academy is looking to recruit two positive and highly motivated individuals to join it's Estates and Facilities team. This is an exciting time to join the Academy, as we are currently in the process of organising our relocation to Exmouth. It is anticipated that the successful candidates will play an essential role in helping to make this move a success.

The successful candidates will need to be able to work under pressure in what can be a busy environment, whilst having the ability to use their own initiative and think on their feet.

In order to gain maxixmum coverage of the new site, role and the duties involved at either end of the day, the successful candidates will work a two weekly rota system, as folows: 

Rota A (for 2 weeks)

Person 1: Monday to Friday - 13:00 to 19:00

Person 2: Monday - 07:00 to 11:00, Tuesday - 15:00 to 19:00, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 10:00 to 14:00

Rota B (for 2 weeks)

Person 1: Monday to Friday - 07:00 to 13:00

Person 2: Monday - 07:00 to 11:00, Tuesday - 15:00 to 19:00, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 to 14:00

During periods of absence e.g. annual leave or sickness, the job holders will be required to cover for each other.  Additional hours payments will be made when providing cover.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, risk assessments and any other relevant legislation and that all policies and procedures are observed.
  • The general maintenance of internal and external areas of the Academy via reactive repairs and through planned maintenance, alterations and improvements programmes.
  • Prioritise works received via the Academy's computerised maintenance request system and deal with accordingly.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are well maintained and kept securely at all times. 
  • Maintain the pathways, driveways, steps and gullies: clearance of leaves and basic maintenance of surfaces to include weeding, salting and gritting to ensure the premises stays safe and accessible. 
  • Process and analyse the Academy's building management system in regards to ensuring it is run efficiently and effectively.

Key Requirements: 

  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience in a similar role providing maintenance support
  • Effective team member who can motivate others within a team postively
  • Ability to prioritise work load and assess situations in order to solve issues
  • Initiative and the ability to work without supervision
  • Experience of using a Building Management System (desirable as full training will be provided)
